Meet John Coleman, aka Fiscal Control

"People always ask me if I was funny as a child.
The answer is no. I was an accountant." Ellen DeGeneres said it first

Corporate finance & accounting
Twenty-two years with Cadmus Communications, Prentice-Hall, Sterling Software and Gulf+Western Corporation.

Business owner/operator
Seven years owning and running a laundry/drycleaner (clothes, not money) and a real estate agency. Most valuable lesson learned: accounting is a lot more relevant when you generate every dime yourself.

Fiscal Control
I've been providing interim CFO services for small and mid-sized firms—and a few huge ones—since 1994. I help my clients ferret out embezzlers, find new revenue, look realistically at profitability, productivity, and the best way to manage them, calculate what it really costs to get and keep a customer (this is often an eye-opener), bring structure and leadership to accounting teams, and serve as a reliable right hand for CFOs juggling multiple projects and priorities.

My clients include start-ups, companies in the midst of—or gathering momentum for—a growth spurt, and mature organizations preparing for audits, acquisitions or reorganization. On the whole, they're  business-to-business firms with a strong technology component.

The Coleman Philosophy

It takes thirty years
to get thirty years of experience.

Technology comes and goes, but the good old
hp12c will never die.

Nothing is as dangerous
as a power-mad accountant.
